Letter: Travel ban is necessary

That was a spot of bother recently in Manchester, eh? Not to worry, we’ll have our share of Islamic terror attacks here. Oops, I forgot the scores slaughtered in Orlando, the dozen or so murdered in San Bernardino, etc.

Meanwhile, the Left celebrates its disdain for both reason and the law by continuing to oppose President Trump’s executive order restricting travel from certain countries that harbor Muslim terrorists.

The president’s authority is made clear by statute (8 U.S.C. ?1182(f)): “Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.”

You’ll notice that there is no asterisk; no clause saying, “unless some Leftist so-called judge divines that his motives are impure.”

The conclusion is inescapable: The Left apparently would prefer to see little girls blown to bits rather than risk being called “Islamophobic,” or — worse yet — allowing Trump to exercise his constitutional authority to keep America safe.
