Letter: Support Vancouver schools

By Janet Elliott, VANCOUVER
Published: February 11, 2017, 6:00am

The citizens of Vancouver have continually “stepped up to the plate” to support students by passing levies and bonds for years, and I thank you.

Passing the bond at this time would help our tax dollars go further. If the bond passes, Vancouver Public Schools would be eligible for approximately $50 million dollars of additional matching funds provided by the state of Washington. All 24,000 students stand to benefit by this bond measure, which would rebuild and/or help every school within the Vancouver Public Schools. With your support you will enable our children to grow up to be compassionate, lifelong learners.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
