Letter: Torn flag is disrespectful

By Gary Naffziger, VANCOUVER

I attended the B-52s concert Sunday at the Clark County Fair and, while the national anthem was being sung beautifully by a female member of our armed forces, I gazed upward at our very large flag flying, extended over the fairgrounds. I was dismayed to see the flag torn and tattered.

Is this not the most important time of the year that the fair board place their best foot forward and shine in front of tens of thousands who attend the fair? I feel that not flying a flag at all would show more respect than this representation of our nation.
