Troopers are investigating after a passing motorist reportedly threw something at a group of Donald Trump supporters holding signs on the Washington side of the Interstate 205 Bridge, according to the Washington State Patrol.
A group of about eight people were on the pedestrian walkway of the bridge when at about 5 p.m. Wednesday someone inside a northbound white sedan threw a plastic bottle at the group, said Jeremy Luciano, a Clark County volunteer for the Trump campaign.
No one was injured, Luciano said. The group ducked to prevent being hit.
“It’s extremely scary,” he said. “We take a risk when standing out there, but we’re not causing problems when we do.”
State Patrol Sgt. Tod Surdam said that troopers are still in the process of interviewing potential victims and gathering information. They were not sure yet what charges would be filed.
