Sunlight Supply has only just started building a 306,000-square-foot headquarters at the Port of Vancouver, but already the company is expanding its existing Vancouver footprint further.

The national garden supply wholesaler is looking to more than double the size of its warehouse at 4525 N.W. Fruit Valley Road, adding 46,000 square feet of warehouse and office space.

Company officials didn’t return a request for comment Tuesday, but plans submitted with the city last week show the facility will be used by about 20 trucks per day.

Meanwhile, the headquarters now being built at Northwest 31st Avenue and Lower River Road is ticking along.

The $32.6 million project should be open by next spring, bringing the company’s more than 250 employees under one roof.

The Port of Vancouver sold 15.5 acres to Sunlight out of its 108-acre Centennial Industrial Park in 2015. The port is building a 125,000-square-foot industrial facility at the park it wants to open next April and has 17 acres of shovel-ready land ready to lease.

Founded in 1995, Vancouver-based Sunlight Supply manufactures and distributes specialty gardening supplies used for indoor, hydroponic, organic and greenhouse gardening. The wholesale-only business also distributes through its network of authorized dealers.
