MILL CREEK — Several people reported seeing a funnel cloud in Snohomish County on Sunday afternoon.
Northwest Cable News reports the National Weather Service took a look at pictures taken of the cloud formation and agreed that it did appear to be a funnel cloud, but without damage reports, they could not immediately say if it was a tornado.
Officials say it appears that the funnel cloud dissipated after a minute or so and did not reach the ground. Pea-sized hail also was reported in the area.
A convergence zone brought lightning strikes to the area and snow to the mountains on Sunday.
