Five people were reported injured after a crash in Battle Ground on Sunday evening.

A 1997 Ford Crown Victoria was traveling west on Southwest Eaton Road at about 8:30 p.m. when it veered off the road to the right near Northwest 10th Avenue, said Battle Ground spokeswoman Bonnie Gilberti.

The driver overcorrected and then crashed into an oncoming 2006 Ram pickup occupied by two Battle Ground residents, she said.

Pickup driver Colleen McLaughlin, 56, refused medical treatment but her passenger, Paula A. Young, 62, was taken to an area hospital, Gilberti said.

All four occupants of the Ford were also taken to a hospital. They were driver Emma Vargo, 19, of Ridgefield, Charles Mason, 22, and Marissa Scott-Rieman, 19, both of Ridgefield, and Blake Balderree, 18, of Vancouver, Gilberti said.

Scott-Rieman was in satisfactory condition Monday at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, while the rest of those who were injured were treated and released from the hospital.

Gilberti said that no citations were issued.
