BEND, Ore. — A Central Oregon alpaca ranch where two animals were killed by Siberian huskies last year has again lost a camelid to dogs.
Ranch owner Michelle Alexander was forced to euthanize her alpaca Aventyr after he was attacked by two boxers.
Alexander says after the huskies got to her livestock last year she installed new fencing and increased security. Despite the efforts, her neighbor’s boxers were able to enter an enclosure on May 21.
One of the dogs was shot by a neighbor who saw it chasing the alpaca.
