Officials have identified the person who died in an Orchards-area motor home fire Sunday as a 45-year-old man.

Lonnie Hagan’s death due to smoke inhalation was ruled an accident, according to the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office. The agency did not have his city of residence.

Crews from the Vancouver Fire Department responded to the blaze in the 6500 block of 121st Avenue at about 1:30 p.m. Sunday. When they arrived, they found flames shooting from the 33-foot motor home and quickly extinguished the blaze from the outside.

Once they got inside they found Hagan’s body.

The fire was caused by mechanical problems with the motor home’s engine, Clark County Assistant Fire Marshal Richard Martin said. The damage totaled an estimated $10,000.
