Washington School for Deaf celebrates 130 years

The Washington School for the Deaf will celebrate its 130th birthday Feb. 3 at the school, 611 Grand Blvd.

The celebration begins with a Spud Fest fundraiser at 5:45 p.m. in the cafeteria. Organized by the Washington School for the Deaf Alumni Association, cost is $8 for 13 and older, $5 for 3 through 12 and free for kids 2 and younger.

At 7 p.m. a free performance in Lloyd Auditorium will celebrate the changes at the school from its inception in 1886 to the present.
