Cherita Daugherty came three steals short of a triple-double as the Prairie girls basketball team got the early jump of W.F. West of Chehalis en route to a 79-55 non-league won Tuesday.
Daugherty finished with 22 points, 14 rebounds and seven steals.
“Cherita was just a monster on the boards,” Prairie coach Brett Johnson said.
The Falcons ran their press to perfection in the first quarter to build a 26-5 lead. Prairie finished with 21 steals.
“And we shot the ball well,” Johnson said. “We were 40 percent for the field, including 38 percent from 3-point range.”
Grace Prom had 26 points, eight rebounds and four assists, and Natalie Whitesel added six points, eight rebounds and six steals.
