Boys basketball: Columbia River 59, Tumwater 51

Spencer Long and Andrew Vickers combined for 14 fourth-quarter points to help the visiting Chieftains to the non-league win.

Long finished with 22 points, Vickers scored 16 and Jacob Hjort added 11 for Columbia River (12-4).

The Chieftains opened up a double-digit lead in the third quarter. The Thunderbirds closed the gap some in the fourth quarter, but Long and Vickers kept the home team from getting within striking distance, according to River coach David Long.
