Investigators are still trying to determine what caused a fire at a mobile home in Orchards on Monday.

Crews from the Vancouver Fire Department responded to a fire at 9312 N.E. 152nd Ave. at about 3:30 p.m.

Arriving firefighters found the structure engulfed in flames, so crews attacked the fire from the outside and had flames under control in about 30 minutes.

The mobile home had been unoccupied and was being used for storage, with the owners living in the adjacent neighborhood, Clark County Deputy Fire Marshal Susan Anderson said.

Damage to the structure was limited to the living room and kitchen, Anderson said. However, because the mobile home, built in 1973, was valued at $250, she said the structure was likely a total loss. Damage to belongings inside the mobile home was estimated at about $55,000, Anderson said.
