LONGVIEW — A donor to the Columbia Human Society has filed a lawsuit against the nonprofit after he earmarked a donation for an onsite spay and neuter clinic that was never built.

The Daily News in Longview reports that Thad Smith filed the suit this month and says he donated $25,000 to the humane society for the clinic. Since the clinic wasn’t built, Smith is asking for his money back.

Human society Board of Director Chairwoman Lori Furman says the board hasn’t struck down the idea of opening a clinic in the future.

Smith, who has donated almost $70,000 to the nonprofit since 2013, says he isn’t upset with the Humane Society he just wants his money spent on the clinic or not at all.
