Boys basketball: Evergreen 77, Mountain View 63

Building a 25-point lead after three quarters, the Plainsmen advanced to the Class 4A District 4 semifinals by sinking the visiting Thunder.

Evergreen will visit Camas at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Mountain View’s season is over.

Tyrus Hosley finished with 27 points to lead the Plainsmen (14-7). He scored 15 in the first half to help Evergreen to a 14-point lead.

A 26-point third quarter extended the margin to 25. Evergreen coach Brian Witherspoon said his team played with great chemistry throughout the third quarter.

Payton Monda finished with 14 points for Evergreen and Greg Washington added 10.

Evergreen and Camas split their two regular-season games, each winning by two points.

Mountain View rallied to within nine points during the fourth quarter. Trevor Green scored 10 of his 17 points in the second half for the Thunder. Jourdon Bolds added 13 points and Alex Hegel 10 points.

Mountain View finished the season with a record of 8-13.
