Clark County — More than 2,200 items were collected and sorted during this year’s Martin Luther King Toiletries for Teens drive. Those items were then donated to more than 1,500 students across Evergreen Public Schools’ six high schools. The drive, which ran Dec. 31 through Jan. 14, collected laundry detergent, shampoo, conditioner, soap, body wash, toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, feminine hygiene products, deodorant, lotion, gloves, socks and toilet paper at 16 donation sites across the county. Elementary school students from across district decorated around 30 collection boxes for the drive. It was hosted by the city of Vancouver, Kaiser Permanente and Bridge Chiropractic.
