CAMAS

The Papermakers bring back 10 players from a team that went 18-5 last seasonx. Senior wing Emma Jones was a first-team leaguer last year, and sophomore guard Haley Hanson was second team.

The Storm have a solid core back from a squad that reached the Tacoma Dome last year. Senior Ashlee Comastro was the 4A GSHL player of the year last year. Riley and Sydney Friauf were second-team all-league picks.

UNION

3A Greater St. Helens

EVERGREEN

There’s a lot of new at Evergreen this season — a new coach in Jeremy Starks and a new league. But there are plenty of familiar faces in sophomores Ahna Burney and Keyonnah Kirkland and seniors Hannah Barchini and Felicia Bahr.

FORT VANCOUVER

Seniors Sydney Brugman, Alexis Zelaya, Jasmeen Kaur and Jennifer Azamar provide leadership for a Trapper team that will continue to work to get better and build confidence through the non-league schedule. Brugman was a second-team all-league pick last year.

HUDSON’S BAY

First-year coach Michael Rainville will try to build a program that also lacks from experience. Only three players were on varsity last season: seniors Brittany Doolittle, Lizeth Ramirez and Sharon Hanson.

KELSO

Kelso does not have any seniors on the roster but that doesn’t keep coach Lacey DeWeert from thinking her team can contend for a playoff berth behind juniors Turner Joy and Jordyn Dole, sophomores Kylee Gibbs and Ally Harman and freshman Alexis Kleven.

MOUNTAIN VIEW

The Thunder lost eight seniors to graduation last season, so the Thunder will be short on experience. Sophomore Mollie Doyle is the lone returning starter, but senior Eva Winsheimer saw significant action last season. Senior Katie Hurst returns from injury.

PRAIRIE

The Falcons remain the class of the league with first-year coach Hala Corral Senior Grace Prom was the co-player of the year in the league and senior Jozie Tangeman was a first-team all-league. Sophomore Brook Walling was an all-leaguer as a freshman at Mark Morris.

2A Greater St. Helens

COLUMBIA RIVER

The Chieftains embark into a new league with a pair of first-team all-leaguers returning in seniors Kate Kraft and Emma Fisk. River made the state round of 3A last year, but life in the 2A GSHL won’t be easier.

HOCKINSON

The Hawks lost a pair of all-leaguers to graduation but junior guard Payton Wangler was a second-team pick last year. They also have good height with three 6-footers led by junior Grace Russell and senior Brittany McGuire..

MARK MORRIS

The Monarchs once again will be right in the mix behind junior Madison Mosier, a first-team all-league. However, sophomore Brook Walling depared. The Monarchs will run the gauntlet with another tough non-league schedule.

R.A. LONG

R.A. Long looks to improve after many young players got vital experience last season. Sophomore guard Eastyn Reeves was a second-team all-league pick. The roster includes three seniors, two juniors, four sophomores and two freshmen.

RIDGEFIELD

After starting five freshmen last season, the Spudders return a very experienced lineup led by sophomores Sarah Jenkins — a second-team all-leaguer — Anna Murphy and Kylie Greenwald. They also add freshman Taylor Hope.

WASHOUGAL

The Panthers lost two huge team leaders to graduation, but sophomore all–league Beyonce Bea returns. Plus, this year Washougal adds freshman Mason Oberg and sophomore post Toryi Midland, who arrives from Stevenson.

WOODLAND

All-league guard Kayla Fredricks is the lone senior on the Beavers’ roster, which includes six freshmen and four sophomores. That hasn’t prevent Woodland from jumping out to a 3-1 start this season.

1A Trico

CASTLE ROCK

Castle Rock will have a very young roster this season with post Ellen Hadaller as the lone senior. Auna Dolan, a second-team all-league pick last year, chose not to play basketball.

SETON CATHOLIC

The Cougars, with first-year coach Will Ephraim, boast one of the more experienced rosters in the Trico with seniors Megan McDaid-O’Neill, Kailey Beckwith, Tiana Scruggs and Amy Frazier leading the way.
