Three people were taken to a hospital Thursday after a driver crashed into a bucket truck, injuring himself, a man in the cherry picker and a worker on the ground.
Officers responded to the scene of the crash, reported at 9:45 a.m. Thursday in the 26300 block of Northeast 10th Avenue.
According to a news release from the Ridgefield Police Department, James Askew of Ridgefield drove a Subaru Forester south on 10th Avenue, passed a flagger and hit the truck, pushing it about 10 feet. It appears that Askew did not attempt to stop prior to the crash, police said.
The worker inside the truck’s basket, Miguel Morales of Vancouver, sustained minor injuries. Jesus Farias Torres, who was leaning against the bucket truck at the time of the crash, was thrown a short distance upon impact, according to the news release. Askew sustained serious injuries, police said.
