The Seattle Mariners held a moment of silence Monday night to remember former pitcher Rob Ramsay who died Thursday in Moscow, Idaho. He was 42.

A graduate of Mountain View High School, Ramsay made 43 appearances over two seasons with the Mariners in 1999 and 2000. He was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2002 and fought the disease to the point where he was able to make a comeback in baseball.

He is survived by his wife Samantha and sons Ryan, 11, and Reid, 8.

A death notice posted online Monday by the Moscow-Pullman Daily News said arrangements are pending with Short’s Funeral Chapel of Moscow.
