A body was recovered from the Columbia River near Camas this morning, and police are investigating whether it could be that of a woman reported missing last week.

Carla Temple, 62, was last seen at her Camas home Thursday night. Camas Police Department Spokeswoman Debrah Riedl said Monday afternoon that the location and circumstances of how the body was found lead them to believe it could be Temple.

Police were called to a private dock in the 2000 block of Southeast 12th Avenue Monday morning after someone looking along the far shoreline with binoculars saw what looked like a body. The site is just downriver from Parker’s Landing, where there is public access to the water.

The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office is working to identify the woman and determine her cause and manner of death.

This story will be updated if more information is made available.
