Clark College has hired Eric Harper to be its next women’s basketball coach, the school announced Thursday.

Harper, who has been a Clark men’s basketball assistant coach since 2015, has 17 years coaching experience at the collegiate level.

He replaced Al Aldridge, who stepped down after four seasons.

“Not only does Eric’s resume speak volumes about his coaching background, but he is of high character and wants to do things the right way,” Clark athletic director Ann Walker said in a press release. “He has a proven record of player improvement while contributing to the development and success of a college basketball program.”

Harper previously coached at Yakima Valley Community College, Portland State and Central Catholic High School in Portland.

He played collegiately at Wenatchee Valley College and Central Washington.
