Residential rents in Clark County grew at a slower rate than the Vancouver-Portland metro area in the last quarter of 2015, but rents still climbed by 10.4 percent year over year, according to a report released Thursday by Colliers International.

The report pegged the metro area’s rent growth at 11.8 percent. That’s the second highest in the U.S. behind Oakland, Calif. The report also said the multifamily housing market in the region will see “continued but moderating growth in 2016.” That could help the rental vacancy rate, which sat at 3.2 percent in Clark County and 3 percent at the end of 2015 in the four-county metro area: Clark County in Washington, and Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas counties in Oregon. Rent in Clark County remained the lowest of those counties, at $1,067 per unit per month, according to the report.
