Vancouver — The innovative roofing company Viirt, founded by Vancouver resident Josh Davis, is moving its headquarters to Vancouver from Omaha, Neb., where it had established its headquarters last year to take advantage of funding provided through a business accelerator program.

Viirt uses satellite technology to obtain roof measurements and then hires prequalfied and licensed roof installers. It says its system allows it to significantly lower costs to customers.

Davis said the company has had success in the Northwest, which he described primarily as a cash market as opposed to the heavily insurance-based market in the Midwest, where many storm-damaged roof repairs are funded by insurance companies. He said the company, with three full-time and one part-time employee in Vancouver, as well as three off-site employees, has managed more than 100 roof installations.
