A broken water main flooded the roadway at an intersection in Vancouver’s Rose Village neighborhood Sunday morning.
The incident occurred at about 11:30 a.m. when a 10-inch, 1940s-era cast-iron water main at P and 33rd streets burst, according to a news release from the city of Vancouver. About 20 homes in the area lost water service for a while because of the broken pipe, the city said.
The city’s water operations crew responded and repaired the line by about 2:30 p.m., according to the news release.
The city did not have an estimate on Sunday of how much water was lost during the incident.
