Prep highlights: Hockinson beats Ridgefield on penalty kicks to earn No. 2 seed

Alyssa Chapin, Haley Phillips, Rylee Seekins, Ally Findlay and Kayla Sills converted penalty kicks in the shootout as Hockinson beat Ridgefield 3-2 to secure the No. 2 seed to the 2A District 4 girls soccer tournament.

The Hawks won the penalty kick shootout 5-4.

Hockinson will host W.F. West on Saturday to open the double elimination tournament.

Cameron Bielat and Alivia Quitugua scored goals for Hockinson, which handed Ridgefield its lone league loss in the regular-season finale. Taryn Ries and Madi Ochoa scored goals for the Spudders.

The Spudders had already clinched the 2A Greater St. Helens League title. The Spudders will host the winner of Thursday’s Aberdeen-R.A. Long match on Saturday.

Hockinson and Washougal finished league at 8-4, but the Hawks earned the No. 2 seed on aggregate goals. Washougal beat Hudson’s Bay on Tuesday.

Washougal will play at Tumwater at 1 p.m. Saturday in the 2A district tournament.

• Taylor Kernion, Skyview girls soccer, had a goal and two assists in a 3-0 win over Heritage.

• Mallory Hylton, Hockinson volleyball, had 27 assists in a win over R.A. Long.

• Baylee Wright, Washougal soccer, scored a golden goal, lifting the Panthers to a 2-1 win over Mark Morris in overtime. Wright also scored her team’s other goal on a penalty kick.

• Abby Wilmington, Columbia River volleyball, had seven kills and a block in a win over Fort Vancouver.

• Nina Bailey, Prairie volleyball, had 18 digs, 5 kills, 2 blocks and 2 aces as the Falcons secured the No. 2 seed to the bi-district tournament with a win over Kelso.

• Kaila Robinson, Skyview volleyball, had 13 kills and three aces in a win over Evergreen.

• Brianna Clark, King’s Way Christian volleyball, had 44 assists and three kills in a win over La Center.

• Kayla Fredricks, Woodland volleyball, had nine kills and 23 digs in a 3-1 win over Mark Morris.

• Kristiana Troyer, Woodland girls soccer, had a goal and an assist in a 2-1 come-from-behind win over Hudson’s Bay.

• Hailey Haggard, Union volleyball, had 16 kills and three blocks in a win over Mountain View. The third set went 33-31 in favor of Union.

• Ellie Walker, Columbia River soccer, had three goals and one assist in a 6-0 win over Fort Vancouver.
