Letter: Vote to reduce government

By Dennis Rozario, Vancouver
Published: October 25, 2015, 6:00am

Thirty-five years ago, I was like many of you, trying to wade through all the political bull dung to determine who to vote for. It didn’t take long to figure out politicians lie, so the issues were actually straw men and/or red herrings. I then set out to determine what party would reduce government.

Because the government is made up of politicians and we know politicians lie, why would we want more of them? Vote for the party that would, if given the opportunity, reduce the size of government. That party is the GOP. The Grand Old Party … the party of Lincoln. Yes, the Republican Party.

Democrats, liberals, and socialists (communists) love Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton because they are promising more and bigger government. That will result in higher taxes, more government regulation, less incentives, less freedom and more liars telling us what’s good for us. Only the private sector can save this country. Only the private sector can provide the jobs necessary to make us strong again. Vote out the politicians.

Vote Republican, vote free enterprise, vote capitalism for our best and hopefully not our last chance.
