Letter: Return Nickels to school board seat

By Joann Grant, Battle Ground
Published: October 1, 2015, 6:00am

Mavis Nickels has my vote on the Battle Ground Public Schools board of directors, District 4. She is highly qualified and has years of experience in the education of our kids, including teaching. I have known her all of the over 40 years she has lived in the community, where she currently operates a blueberry farming operation.

Nickels goes far beyond what is required to be a great director. She attends many school functions and really cares about the kids. She keeps herself informed and makes thoughtful, careful decisions.

She represents the district on the state level, and communicates directly with the legislators on behalf of the kids. I want her to continue representing me, as well as the rest of our community.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
