KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — Oregon Institute of Technology says its enrollment grew 12 percent over the past year as the college took on more high school students and grew its online program.

The college said Thursday that its fall enrollment reached an all-time high of nearly 4,800 students.

Administrators say they’re meeting demand for polytechnic degrees and expanding college access for Oregonians.

The school’s growth came entirely at its satellite campus in Wilsonville, its online programs and its efforts to enroll high school students in college-credit classes. Enrollment at the main campus in Klamath Falls fell by 25 students, or 1 percent compared with a year earlier.

The high school program added 370 students, up 75 percent, and the online program added 190, an increase of 18 percent.
