A Carson man died and three other people were injured in an early morning crash Sunday.

Skamania County sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene of a crash in Carson at about 12:15 a.m. Sunday.

A 1993 Honda Civic was traveling south on Smith Beckon Road when it collided with a 2002 Acura near Hot Springs Avenue, according to the sheriff’s office.

The passenger in the Honda, 21-year-old James Pat, died at the scene, the Skamania County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The driver of the Honda, Tanner Lloyd, 21, of Stabler, was trapped in the vehicle. Emergency personnel removed him from the vehicle and took him to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries, the sheriff’s office said.

The two occupants in the Acura, 19-year-old Rylie Olsen, who was driving, and 20-year-old Faith Udall, a passenger, also were taken to a hospital with serious injuries, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies are investigating what caused the collision and are being assisted by the Washington State Patrol.

Carson Fire District 1 and Skamania County Emergency Medical Services assisted at the scene.
