MILWAUKIE, Ore. — Seven dump trucks have burned at a business in Milwaukie, just south of Portland, and diesel fuel has leaked into a tributary of the Willamette River.

Firefighters reported heavy damage and said some fuel tanks ruptured. Fire crews spread absorbent material on the ground to limit the amount of fuel leaking into Johnson Creek and put booms in the waterway to contain and collect the fuel.

No cause of the fire was immediately reported. It broke out early Tuesday and was brought under control after half an hour.

The trucks were at a company called Northwest Infrastructure, a contractor whose website says does it demolition work, digs underground utility lines and operates a trucking business.
