Investigators aren’t sure what caused a boat to catch fire Monday afternoon in Clark County.

The fire was reported at 3:56 p.m. at 7806 N.E. 110th St. in the Sunnyside neighborhood. Vancouver firefighters were sent to the residence to put out the fire.

Nobody was inside the boat, which was parked in the yard, when it went up in flames, according to the Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office. The owners weren’t sure what kind of boat it was, but said it was an older boat.

The fire marshal’s office wasn’t able to determine what sparked the fire or where it started because the boat was extensively damaged.
