LAKE STEVENS — A school district in Lake Stevens says it has suspended two third-graders after one found sexually explicit images on a district computer and shared them with classmates.
Lake Stevens School District spokeswoman Jamie Taylor says the students attend Sunnycrest Elementary School in Lake Stevens, northeast of Everett.
KCPQ-TV in Seattle reports the district didn’t disclose how long the children would be suspended.
The district says it’s working to ensure it doesn’t happen again.
District officials sent an email to parents says that all student computer use at the school is suspended until they investigate what happened with software that is supposed to filter such explicit images.
