A new daily record was set Friday by the state’s marijuana industry, with $1.5 million in sales and collection of $388,662 in excise taxes, the state Liquor Control Board reported late Tuesday. The previous record of more than $1.2 million in sales was set Dec. 31.
The trend of growing sales each month also continued in February, which saw $22.3 million in sales, up from $18.5 million in January.
Industry sales overall crested the $100 million mark last week. Total sales to date, including the first few days of March, are: $108 million.
The recreational sale of marijuana became legal in Washington on July 8.
