Letter: Protect our civilization’s resources

The Columbian

I am stupefied by the brilliance of the “new” plan. Clark County is in big trouble because they allowed rampant development with no infrastructure or a way to pay for it. How do we get out of this fix? More development, by God. Brilliant. That way of thinking: I’ve maxed out my Visa and have no way to pay for it, but what me, worry, I’ll just get a MasterCard, and an American Express, problem solved. Hopefully, I’ll be dead before the rest of the bills come due, or I will not be in office and someone else can pick up the can of bills.

Get a clue, people.

You like the traffic mess and higher taxes and fees by edict? There’s more coming. We live where you can grow food and have water. The rest of the world and the breadbasket of this country is history, and they want to cover this resource with malls, roads and houses. Intelligence would protect this valuable resource. Read history — the great civilizations failed, why? Because they trashed the resources that fed them.
