Letter: Expose conflict of interest

The Columbian
Published: July 11, 2015, 12:00am

I’m writing in response to Roy G. Wilson’s June 30 letter asking for “Just the facts will convince,” regarding the Clinton Foundation.

When Hillary Clinton was secretary of state, her department authorized $165 billion in arms sales to 20 countries that donated millions of dollars to the Clinton Foundation. This was published in a May 2015 edition of the International Business Times (a digital global news publication) and is double the U.S. arms sales to those countries during President George W. Bush’s second term.

Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign and the Clinton Foundation did not respond to questions from the International Business Times. Clearly it continues to “raise doubts” on the Clinton Foundation’s funding and more importantly, is a direct conflict of interest to be involved in such a foundation given the power and decision-making capabilities of that office.
