LOS ANGELES — Ayodeji Egbeyemi scored 22 points, Marin Mornar added 21 points with 10 rebounds and Loyola Marymount beat Portland 80-68 on Thursday.

The Lions shot 51 percent from the floor and were 8 of 12 on 3-pointers.

Loyola Marymount (5-13, 1-5 West Coast) used a 14-2 run midway through the first half — including a pair of 3-pointers by Matt Hayes — to open a 12-point lead, and led 36-26 at the break.

Portland (11-7, 2-4) cut the deficit to one on Gabe Taylor’s jumper with 11:02 left, but the Lions responded with a 13-0 run to go up 62-48 with 7:20 left. Portland whittled that lead down to eight with 2:09 remaining, but Loyola made 8 of 10 free throws down the stretch to ice it.

Alec Wintering paced Portland with 17 points and seven assists. Taylor and Volodymyr Gerun had 12 points apiece and D’Marques Tyson added 11.
