CVTV Revamps Website

Viewers can now find programs, videos more easily

So many meetings, so little time.

Keeping abreast of what’s happening in local government just got easier with the launch of Clark/Vancouver Television’s new website.

At the revamped www.cvtv.org, residents can tune in to live feeds from Comcast cable channels 21 and 23 and watch featured programs and short videos on the city and county’s YouTube channels. Viewers also can access all recent meeting videos of a particular entity, such as the Vancouver City Council or the C-Tran Board of Directors.

Among the new features is a search engine that finds videos by keyword or program and sorts the results. The CVTV video player now allows users to skip to a specific meeting agenda item or share videos and video clips by email or on social media.

The new site is “much more user friendly and modern” than the old one, CVTV video services manager Jim Demmon said in a press release. The site’s mobile-friendly adaptive design automatically detects the user’s type of device and adjusts the display to fit, he noted.

Available to all Comcast customers throughout Clark County, CVTV provides local government programming for the city of Vancouver, Clark County and community partners such as the Port of Vancouver and C-Tran. This is the first major update to the website since its inception in 2005.
