PORTLAND — IBM said Friday that it has laid off an unspecified number of employees this week at the Beaverton office of its Seterus loan servicing subsidiary.

The company is “rebalancing skills and keeping our commitments to sites,” according to a statement from IBM communications director Clint Roswell. It’s part of a corporate overhaul the company announced last year, he said.

IBM did not specify the number of layoffs or say how many employees work at the site.

Oregon and Beaverton committed $350,000 for work force training to fill positions at the site, which IBM acquired when it bought Wilshire Credit Corp. At the time, Wilshire had 710 employees — half of them in Salem. IBM said then that it anticipated adding 600 Oregon employees, mostly in Beaverton.
