Andrew Vickers scored 16 points as Columbia River won its opening round game at the Centennial New Year’s Basketball Bash, 49-41, over Vallivue of Caldwell, Idaho, on Thursday morning.
“We struggled shooting early in the game, but we defended well,” Columbia River coach David Long said. “It was just a grinder.”
In addition to his points, Vickers also had seven rebounds, six assists and three steals.
Jacob Hjort added 14 points for the Chieftains, who next face Coeur d’Alene in Friday’s semifinals.
