A Vancouver woman suspected of intoxicated driving was injured in a single-vehicle crash Tuesday night, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Chasity A. Gates, 43, was driving a 1992 Honda Accord east on state Highway 500 approaching Northeast Stapleton Road at about 10:45 p.m. when she reportedly lost control while attempting to make a right turn, WSP said.

The car struck a traffic signal pole, and Gates was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, according to troopers. She was listed in satisfactory condition, hospital staff said.

Troopers said that the crash was caused by speed, and that Gates will face a charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants.
