SEATTLE — As homelessness in Seattle continues to grow, a new village of tiny houses is taking shape in the Central District to keep some people warm through winter.
KING-TV reports that a number of insulated wooden structures have been erected at The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. The homes are about the size of a bedroom and will have electricity. Those who are homeless and living there will pay $90 a month as a utility fee.
The site is expected to open Jan. 4, pending any delays. The Low Income Housing Institute will provide human services as part of a plan to help people get back on their feet.
