CLEVELAND  — Cleveland is to receive rock ‘n’ roll-themed sculptures that play snippets of songs by rock hall inductees.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and Destination Cleveland are planning to put the sculptures along the downtown business spine ahead of the 2016 Republican National Convention.

The installation, called “Rock Box,” is expected to be made up of stacks of 2-foot-square loudspeakers that play music from rock hall inductees. The goal is to create a stronger link between the hall of fame and downtown, which are separated by railroads, a 70-foot drop in elevation, and highways and ramps.

The project is funded by Destination Cleveland.
