Solid second-half defense helped lift the Falcons to the non-league victory over rival Battle Ground.

After trailing 30-28 at halftime, Prairie held the Tigers to 15 points in the second half including just five points in the third quarter.

“It was great to see them respond in the second half,” Prairie coach Kyle Brooks said of his players. “To hold them to 15 points in the second half is a nice effort.”

Dwayne Stewart came off the bench to provide a spark for Prairie with a game-high 17 points. He also had seven rebounds and was 5 for 5 from the free-throw line.

The Falcons were 16 of 18 from the foul line.

Kellen Butler led Battle Ground with 14 points.
