Letter: Potential danger overlooked

By Richard Willerton, Vancouver
Published: December 9, 2015, 6:00am

Visions of “huddled masses yearning to breathe free” have been raised by feel-goods wanting to allow potentially dangerous people into the U.S., ignoring the fact that none of the huddled masses from centuries past intended harm to Americans. The second Muslim invasion of Europe currently underway is not comprised of women and children fleeing sexual enslavement (with whom one could empathize), but primarily men — 75 to 85 percent according to some reports. Have these brave “men” fled, leaving their families at the disposal of ISIS?

It is easy for hand-wringers to dismiss the very real probability of importing jihadists, but tell me this: If I have 10,000 M&Ms, only 10 of which are lethally poisoned, how many of these M&Ms will you feed to your own children?

If Islam is a religion of peace, why aren’t Islamic extremists extremely peaceful? The truth is that Islam is an artifice invented by a megalomaniac as a tool for use in his quest for power. If the Quran is truly the Word of God transcribed as dictated, why are there contradictions? Did this “everlasting, all-powerful, all-knowing god” forget by chapter 6 what he had dictated in chapter 3? Or are they errors of a human invention?
