A passenger in a rear-end crash early Sunday remains in critical condition at the hospital.

Traffic detectives with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office continue to investigate the crash, reported at about 7:30 a.m. Sunday.

A westbound Ford SUV was stopped at a red light in the 5500 block of Northeast Padden Parkway, where it merges with 78th Street, deputies said. The SUV was struck from behind by a Subaru; the drivers of both vehicles and a passenger in the Subaru were taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.

The driver of the Ford, Florentino Contreras, 50, of Vancouver, was treated and released from the hospital, according to the sheriff’s office.

The driver of the Subaru, Jesse Gower, 23, of Washougal, was also treated and released from the hospital. Gower’s passenger, Moses Morales, 26, of Vancouver, was listed in critical condition Monday night.

Traffic detectives didn’t release any more information about the crash, but said that the investigation is ongoing.
