East Vancouver — Brian Apling recently spent some time with trainers from the Seattle Mariners at an event for Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society’s Promoting a Lifetime of Activity for Youth (PLAY) Campaign.

The PLAY Campaign looks to combat childhood obesity and promote healthy living and positive decision-making among young people in America. Apling, regional manager for Henry Schein Medical, Performance Health, attended the event July 28 at Safeco Field in Seattle.

The trainers, as well as a few Mariners, met with kids from a local Boys & Girls Club on the field, talked to them about living healthily and went through some exercises and stretches.
