PORTLAND — Former Oregon first lady Cylvia Hayes has been ordered to release her emails to a court for review.

Marion County Judge Tracy Prall issued the ruling Wednesday in a case that concerns a public records request for more than 100,000 emails, many of which have already been released publicly.

Hayes is the fiancee of former Gov. John Kitzhaber, who resigned over allegations the former first lady used her relationship with him to land contracts for her business.

She went to court to block an order from the state attorney general’s office demanding that she turn over the emails.

Prall’s order requires Hayes to give the emails to the court. The court will decide which emails concern public business and must be released.
