Clark County Councilor David Madore made three major promises during his campaign. He said he would work to remove the fees on access to county parks; remove/reduce infrastructure development fees paid by new development, thus bring in more jobs and, in the process, raise more money by a higher property tax base and more sales tax; and stop light rail and tolls on the Interstate 5 Bridge.
We now have no fees to use parks. We have new businesses, a higher tax basis and great employment partly as a result of the reduction in fee requirements previously placed on new development. We are not facing light rail and associated tolls.
Promises made by this politician were accomplished prior to him completing his first term in office.
