A Battle Ground man suspected of driving under the influence allegedly struck a construction worker with his truck early Thursday morning.

Kenneth F. Myers, 70, was driving a 2005 Ford F-250 pickup east on state Highway 502 approaching 50th Avenue at about 12:40 a.m., according to Washington State Patrol. Myers was traveling in the westbound lanes due to construction.

The pickup hit a traffic cone and left the designated lane of travel, striking Berdan C. Lindberg, 25, of Yacolt, who was working in the construction zone, according to WSP.

Lindberg was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center where he was treated and later discharged from the hospital.

Troopers reported that they believe intoxicants and inattention caused the crash and Myers was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of intoxicants.
