Week 5 prep football player of the week nominees

Nominees for high school football player of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Oct. 4. Voting will conclude at 8 p.m. Tuesday with results published in Wednesday’s Columbian.

o CALEB BROWNING, UNION: Browning rushed for 185 yards on 19 carries and five touchdowns in a win over Evergreen. He also added an interception on defense.

o AUSTEN JOHNSON, HOCKINSON: Johnson rushed for 160 yards on 14 carries and scored five touchdowns in a win over Hudson’s Bay.

o JORDAN MARTI, PRAIRIE: Marti rushed for 168 yards on 13 carries and two touchdowns in a win over Mark Morris.

o JAMES PRICE, CAMAS: Price caught nine passes for 171 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Skyview.

o ELI WHITMIRE, WOODLAND: Whitmire rushed for 104 yards on 13 carries and four touchdowns. He also returned a punt 69 yards for another score and had a 35-yard reception in a win over Washougal.
